RESOLUTION NO. 266

A RESOLUTION RECOMMENDING THAT THE FLAG OF
THE UNITED STATES BE ALLOWED TO FLY THROUGH-
OUT ALL OF MONROE COUNTY AS A SYMBOL OF
PATRIOTISM AND ENCOURAGING CITIZENS TO DO SO.
WHEREAS, the Old Island Restoration Commission (ORIC) has
ordered that the United States flag flying at Robinson's Bicycle
Shop in Key West be removed; and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County,
speaking for all of the County, wish to encourage the flying of
the flag of the United States as a display of patriotism; now,
therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The ORIC is hereby urged and requested to allow
the free display of the flag of the United States within the area
of its jurisdiction.
Section 2. All citizens throughout Monroe County are hereby
urged and requested to display their patriotism by flying the
flag of the United States.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Monroe County, Florida, at a regular meeting of said Board held
