RESOLUTION NO. 04~1988
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA,
AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 500-1987 TO INCLUDE
THE ATTACHED DOCUMENT ENTITLED "ACTION PLAN."
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that Resolution No. 500-1987, passed and
adotped by the Board on December 15, 1987, is hereby amended to
include the document entitled "Action Plan," a copy of which is
attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Monroe County, Florida, at a regular meeting of said Board held
on the 19th day of January, A.D. 1988.

Action Plan
In that the County of Monroe will continuou81y seek to
adaini.ter programs funded in part or in total by allocations
directly or indirectly from the U.S. DepartMent of Housing and
Urban Development, the County will be bound by the provi.ions of
S.ction 3 of the Housing and Urban Deve1op..nt Act of 1986, the
-.ual Opportunity Act, Ex.cutive Order 11246, and the County's
de.ire to enhance the opportunities for small and minority
bu.in..... and local bu.ines.es to participate in contracts with
the County.
To accomplish this objective, the County has established and
aqreed to implement tile fOllowing steps to ensure the deployaent
of affiraative action in expenditures for contractual ..rvice.,
comaodities, and construction contracts:
1. To utilize the news media, chamber of c~rce, State
Department of General Services, local advertisin9
services, citizen advi.ory boards, reqional planning
councils, listing by federal agencie., and other
appropriate sourc.. to identify small minority busine..
concerns for po..ible involvement with County contacts.
2. To ma~ntain and update the listing of ..all and minority
business concerns and notify them of contracting
opportunities with the County.
3. To require all bidders on contracts to .ubmit in writing
how they plan to comply with the claus.. in Section 3 of
the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968, a.
amended.
4. To maintain records (copie. of memoranda, general
corr.spondence, etc.) to document that all step. in the
action plan have been followed:

as the Equal Opportunity Officer to coordinate the
implementation 'of the Affirmative Action Plan with
operators of County administer8d or County funded
