RESOLUTION NO. 148 -1988
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMIS-
SIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZ-
ING THE FILING OF A GRANT APPLICATION WITH
THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF STATE, BUREAU OF
HISTORIC PRESERVATION, AND DIRECTING THE
EXECUTION OF SAME BY THE PROPER COUNTY
AUTHORITIES.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, as follows:
1. That said Board has been notified of the availability of
funds from the Florida Department of State, Bureau of His toric
Preservation under the Historic Preservation Grants-in-Aid
Program.
2. That Monroe County owns the West Martello Tower, a
historic structure which is on the National Register of Historic
Places, and which is in need of structural restoration, an
eligible activity under the said grant program.
3. That Monroe County intends to apply for a $20,000 grant
under the said program and pledges a cash contribution of $10,000
and in-kind contributions of $10,000 as required match, said
match to come out of the FY88-89 budget.
4. That Monroe County designates County Grants Manager
Paul Wick as project contact person.
S. That the Monroe County Board of County Commissioners
hereby directs the execution of said Application by the proper
County authorities.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Monroe County, Florida, at a regular meeting of said Board held
on the 5th day of April, A.D. 1988.
