RESOLUTION NO. 047 -1987
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMIS-
S lONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLOR IDA,
AUTHORIZING THE COLLECTION OF A SERVICE FEE
BY MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, FOR DISHONORED
CHECKS, AS PROVIDED FOR IN SECTION 125.0105,
FLORIDA STATUTES.
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Board of County Commis-
sioners of Monroe County, Florida, to provide for a service fee
by Monroe County, Florida, for dishonored checks, as provided for
in Section 125.0105 of the Florida Statutes; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, as follows:
Section 1.
That Board of County Commissioners of Monroe
County, Florida, hereby authorizes the collection of a service
fee of Ten Dollars ($10) or five percent (5%) of the face amount
of the check, draft or order, whichever is greater, up to a
maximum fee of Twenty-five Dollars ($25) for the collection of a
dishonored check, draft or other order for the payment of money
to Monroe County, Florida.
Section 2. The service fee referred to in Section 1, above,
shall be in addition to all other penalties imposed by law.
Proceeds from this fee, if imposed, shall be retained by the
collector of the fee.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Monroe County, Florida, at a regular meeting of said Board held
on the 6th day of January, A.D. 1987.
