RESOLUTION NO. 385A -1986
A RESOLUTION PROHIBITING PARKING ON CERTAIN
PORTIONS OF MAC DONALD AVENUE AND FIFTH
STREET ON STOCK ISLAND, FLORIDA; AND PROVID-
ING FOR POSTING.
WHEREAS, certain persons are offering for sale goods and
services along portions of Mac Donald Avenue and Fifth Street on
Stock Island, Florida; and
WHEREAS, purchasers of the goods and services frequently
park along the described streets thereby creating both pedestrian
and traffic hazards; and
WHEREAS, it is desired to immediately alleviate the situa-
tion; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA:
Section 1.
Pursuant to the authority granted in Chapter
316, Laws of Florida, and Chapter 11, Monroe County Code, the
parking, stopping or standing of a vehicle or bicycle is hereby
prohibited on or adjacent to the following roadways, all in the
unincorporated area of Monroe County, Florida:
A. The north side of Mac Donald Avenue extending from
Fourth Street to Fifth Street, Stock Island; and
B. The east side of Fifth Street extending from Mac
Donald Avenue to U. S. 1, Stock Island.
Section 2. The Monroe County Department of Public Works is
hereby directed to place "No Parking" signs adjacent to the
above-described roadways in accordance with the standards
prescribed by the Florida Department of Transportation.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Monroe County, Florida, at a regular meeting of said Board held
