RESOLUTION NO. 179 -1985
RESOLUTION APPROVING CHANGE ORDER NO. 1
AMENDING THE CONTRACT BY AND BETWEEN MONROE
COUNTY, FLORIDA, AND GENERAL ASPHALT COMPANY,
INC., FOR THE KEY VACA ROAD III PROJECT.
WHEREAS, Monroe County, Florida, previously entered into a
contract with General Asphalt Company, Inc., for the purpose of
making roadway improvements, and
WHEREAS, Monroe County desires to include the paving of 86th
Street and the contractor agrees to pave this street for the same
price as bid for the paving of 85th Street, which is a part of
the the original contract, and
WHEREAS, Monroe County has issued Change Order No. 1 to
cover the paving of 86th Street under the Key Vaca Road III
Project and submitted said Change Order No. 1 to the Board of
County Commissioners of Monroe County, Florida, for its approval,
now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, as follows:
1. That said Board of County Commissioners hereby approves
Change Order No. 1 to that certain contract entered into by and
between Monroe County, Florida, and General Asphalt Company,
Inc., for the purpose of including the paving of 86th Street
under the Key Vaca Road III Project.
2. That said Board also approves and authorizes the adjust-
ment to be made in the Contract Price and Time as contained in
said Change Order No.1.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Monroe County, Florida, at a regular meeting of said Board held
on the 21st day of June, A.D. 1985.

Nature of the Change:
Monroe County desires to amend the above project to include the paving of
86th Street. This street is 1086 feet long. The contractor agrees to pave
this ;street for the same price as bid for the paving of 85th Street which is
a part of the above contract.
86th Street has a 20 foot right-of-way, Paving would include a 12 foot paved
surface (1086 x 12 f 9 = 1448 sq. yds.). Paving to include a 1/2 leveling
course and a 111 surface course. The total bid for these two items was $4.60
per square yard, (1448 x $4,60 = $6,660.80)
The changes result in the following adjustment of Contract Price and Time:
