RESOLUTION NO. 225-1985
A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE USE OF THE VETER-
ANS COUNCIL COMPUTER SYSTEM AND APPROVING THE
USE OF VOLUNTEER SUPPORT FOR THE KEY WEST
VETERANS AFFAIRS OFFICE AND THE MONROE COUNTY
VETERANS AFFAIRS OFFICE; PROVIDING FOR SAID
VOLUNTEERS TO BE RECOGNIZED UNDER THE COUNTY
WORKMEN'S COMPENSATION PROGRAM AND OTHER
REQUIREMENTS.
BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and the County Commission of
Monroe County, Florida that the County accepts for the use of the
Monroe County Veterans Affairs Department that computer system
heretofore purchased by the Veterans Council of Monroe County and
being used for Veterans Affairs at this time.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the use of said equipment
requires and will be operated through and by volunteer workers,
who must be trained and well-versed in the operation of such
equipment, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the County commends the Veter-
ans Council of Monroe County for making available this equipment
for this purpose.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND THE COUNTY
COMMISSION OF MONROE COUNTY that:
1. It recognizes and appreciates the use of the computer
equipment purchased by the Veterans Council of Monroe County for
the use of said Veterans, and
2. That it recognizes the need for volunteers for such
operation and does hereby authorize the use of volunteer person-
nel in order to utilize the computer system and that such volun-
teers shall be considered under the Monroe County Workmen's
Compensation for the time doing which they are operating said
computer system, and that the County Commission does instruct the
Director of Veterans Affairs to cooperate to the fullest with the
Veterans Council in making practical use of this system for the
benefit of Veterans in Monroe County.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Monroe County, Florida, at a regular meeting of said Board held on
the 19th day of July, A.D. 1985.
