RESOLUTION NO. 174 -1984
RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, TO INTERVENE IN THAT
CERTAIN RATE PROCEEDING NOW PENDING BEFORE THE
PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION OF THE STATE OF FLORIDA
BROUGHT BY THE STOCK ISLAND UTILITY COMPANY.
WHEREAS, the Stock Island Utility Company, the public
utility that handles the sewage on Stock Island, has brought a
petition to increase rates to be charged by said Company, and
WHEREAS, the County Commission of Monroe County does desire
to participate in said rate hearing as far as is practicable,
now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that said County be and it is hereby
empowered to intervene in that certain rate procedure now pending
before the Public Service Commission which was initially brought
by Stock Island Utility Company.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY SAID BOARD that Public Counsel,
Jack Shreve, be requested to intervene in the pending rate
hearing concerning Stock Island Utility Company.
BE IT ALSO FURTHER RESOVLED BY SAID BOARD that the Public
Service Commission be requested to hold any hearing on the
aforesaid application in Key West, Monroe County, Florida.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Monroe County, Florida, at a special meeting of said Board held
on the 19th day of June, A.D. 1984.
