RESOLUTION NO. 259 -1983
A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THAT THE MONROE COUNTY SCHOOL
BOARD TAKE WHATEVER LEGAL ACTION IS NEEDED TO BRING
ABOUT AND PROPERLY ADJUST AND EQUALIZE THE SCHOOL TAX
FORMULA AND ASSURE TO THE CITIZENS OF MONROE COUNTY,
FLORIDA A PROPER REDUCTION IN THEIR AD VALOREM TAX
MILLAGE.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE
COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the Monroe County School Board is hereby
requested to initiate immediate legal action versus the Florida
State Department of Revenue to properly adjust and equalize the
school tax formula.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY SAID BOARD that such action taken by
the Monroe County School Board to reduce and adjust the unequal and
improper school tax formula be and it is supported wholeheartedly
by this Commission.
Passed and adopted by the Board of County Commissioners of
Monroe County, Florida, at a regular meeting of said Board held on
the 16th day of September, A.D. 1983.
