RESOLUTION NO. 188A -1983
A RESOLUTION CALLING ON THE FEDERAL EMERGENCY
MANAGEMENT AGENCY TO MODIFY PUBLISHED FLOOD
LEVELS FOR CUDJOE GARDENS BY ISSUANCE OF A
LETTER OF MAP AMENDMENT BASED UPON A DETAILED
STUDY OF LOCAL CONDITIONS PROVIDED BY
MR. VINCENT M. DROST.
WHEREAS, THE Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County,
Florida has received the Cudjoe Gardens Flood Study prepared for
Mr. Vincent M. Drost by the firm of Post, Buckley, Schuh &
Jernigan, Inc., Consulting Engineers and Planners, containing
scientific and technical justification for a request by Mr. Drost
to the Federal Emergency Management Agency for issuance of a
Letter of Map Amendment, and
WHEREAS, all such data has been afforded the Federal
Emergency Management Agency for their perusal and permanent
files, and
WHEREAS, Title 44, Code of Federal Regulations, Chapter 1,
Part 70, et seq. provides an administrative procedure whereby the
Federal Insurance Administration will review the scientific or
technical submissions of an owner or lessee of property who
believes his property has been inadvertently included in
designated A, AO, AI-99, VO and VI-30 Zones, as a result of the
transposition of the curvilinear line to either street or other
readily identifiable features. Upon determining from available
scientific or technical information that a Flood Hazard Boundary
MAP or a Flood Insurance Rate Map requires modification under the
provisions of ~70.4(b), the Administration shall issue a Letter
of Map Amendment, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that:
1. The County supports the request to the Federal
Emergency Management Agency by Mr. Vincent M. Drost for issuance
of a Letter of Map Amendment.
2. The County urges that the Federal Emergency Management
Agency process application for the Letter of Map Amendment and

implement the so modified Flood Insurance Rate Map expeditiously
to the benefit of citizens of Monroe County.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Monroe County, Florida, at a regular meeting of said Board held
on the 10th day of June, A.D. 1983.
