RESOLUTION NO. 234 -1983
RESOLUTION APPROVING CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 AMENDING THE
CONTRACT BY AND BETWEEN MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, &~D
THE BREWER COMPANY OF FLORIDA, INC. BY AUTHORIZING
THE REMOVAL OF TWO BUMPS ON BOYD DRIVE IN CROSS KEY
WATERWAYS ESTATES SUBDIVISION AND THE AREA RECOMPACTED
AND A LEVELING COURSE OF ASPHALTIC CEMENT BE APPLIED
IN ORDER TO COMPLETE THE PAVING AND GRADING IMPROVE-
MENTS OF ROADWAYS IN SAID SUBDIVISION.
miEREAS, Monroe County, Florida, previously entered into a
contract by and between Monroe County, Florida, and The Brewer
Company of Florida, Inc., providing for paving and grading improve-
ments within Cross Key Waterways Estates Subdivision, Monroe
County, Florida, and
WHEREAS, after the contract letting and during construction
it was determined to be in the best interest of the County to
authorize the removal of two bumps in the area of Boyd Drive in
said Subdivision and the area recompacted and a leveling course
of asphaltic cement be applied prior to the commencement of the
one inch (1") overlay, and
WHEREAS, Monroe County, Florida, has issued Change Order No. 1
to cover the above described work and is submitting said Change
Order to the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County,
Florida, for its approval, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE
COUNTY, FLORIDA, as follows:
1. That said Board of County Commissioners hereby approves
Change Order No. 1 to that certain contract entered into by and
between Monroe County, Florida, and The Brewer Company of Florida,
Inc. providing for paving and grading improvements within Cross
Key Waterways Estates, Monroe County, Florida.
2. That said Board also approves and authorizes the adjust-
ment to be made in the Contract Price and Time as contained in
said Change Order No.1.

Passed and adopted by the Board of County Commissioners of
Monroe County, Florida, at a regular meeting of said Board held
on the 5th day of August, A. D. 1983.

Dear Mr. Stickney:
Enclosed herewith is Change Order #1 to the above project, for your signature and
further processing. - -
During the summer recesses of the County Commission, Commissioner Kenneth
Sorensen gave his verbal consent to make changes as necessary to the project,
provided the cost did not exceed a total of $5,000.00.
During the course of construction, this change in the amount of $800.00 was the only
necessary deviation from the original contract.

Nature of the Change:
During the course of construction it became apparent that 2 areas of
Boyd Drive could not be leveled up , with the contracted for overlay
of 1 " asphaltic cement. It was determined that these two bumps should
be removed , the area recompacted and a leveling course of asphaltic
cement be. applied , prior to the commencement of the 1 " overlay .
