RESOLUTION NO. 10 5-19 8 3
RESOLUTION APPROVING MONROE COUNTY APPOINTMENTS TO THE
SOUTH FLORIDA EMPLOYMENT AND TRAINING CONSORTIUM PRIVATE
INDUSTRY COUNCIL UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF THE POSITION
PAPER ON THE PROCEDURES FOR ESTABLISHING THE SFETC-PIC
UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF THE JOB TRAINING PARTNERSHIP ACT.
WHEREAS, the Job Training Partnership Act (JTPA) enacted in September,
1982 has replaced the Comprehensive Employment and Training Act (CETA) ; and
WHEREAS, the South Florida Employment and Training Consortium meets the
requirements for automatic designation as a Service Delivery Area (Dade and
Monroe Area) under the Job Training Partnership Act; and
WHEREAS, the Job Training Partnership Act requires that each Service
Delivery Area has a Private Industry Council (PIC) with a majority of
its members representing the private sector; and
,WHEREAS, the members of the Private Industry Council must be appointed
by the chief elected official of the Service Delivery Area from nominations
submitted by general purpose business organizations and other appropriate
groups; and
WHEREAS, the South Florida Employment and Training Consortium have
developed a position paper on the procedures for establishing the local
Private Industry Council (SFETC-PIC) ; and
. WHEREAS, the Monroe County Board of County Commissioners has approved
the position paper on the procedures for establishing the SFETC-PIC
(January 21, 1983, Resolution #027-1983) ; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and the Monroe County Commission have selected the
five appointees on the attached list as members to the SFETC-PIC
representing Monroe County private sector (three seats) and public sector
(two seats) ; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA that the members on the attached list be appointed,
hereby this day of April 15 , 1983.
