RESOLUTION NO. 26~1981
WHEREAS, Chapter 252.09, Florida Statutes, requires that
each County of this state have an organization for Civil Defense,
such organization to be an official part of the local government,
now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that Monroe County, Florida, a political
subdivision of the State of Florida, through its Board of County
Commissioners in official session assembled this date does hereby
establish an office of county government, which office shall be
known as the Office of Civil Defense of Monroe County, Florida.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY SAID BOARD that this department
shall be responsible for providing the necessary coordination and
control of emergency Civil Defense operations as may be necessary
from time to time.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY SAID BOARD that this office shall
be headed by a director who shall be appointed by the Board of
County Commissioners, and shall be responsible for the organization,
administration and direction of the Civil Defense organization,
subject to the direction and control of the Board of County Com-
missioners.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY SAID BOARD that all of the
agencies, departments and services of the said county, including
all resources of whatever nature, shall be ~ssigned and made avail-
able as required to carry out the mission and objectives of the plan
and programs of the said Monroe County, Florida.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY SAID BOARD that Resolution
No. 3-1975 adopted by said Board on January 7, 1975, be and the
same is hereby rescinded and null and void.
