RESOLUTION NO. 305 -1981
RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY CO}~1ISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, FIXING AND DELINEATING THE
BOUNDARIES OF THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS' DISTRICTS;
PROVIDING FOR THE RENUMBERING OF THE DISTRICTS,
ALL OF WHICH ARE IN MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA.
WHEREAS, it is necessary and required by law to change the
present boundaries of County Commissioners' Districts in Monroe
County, Florida, and establish new County Commissioners' Districts
in Monroe County, Florida, as per the requirements of Article 8,
Subsection 1 (e), of the Constitution of the State of Florida, and
I Florida Statutes Chapter 124, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE
COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the County Commissioners' Districts of Monroe
County, Florida, shall be established as follows and shall be desig-
nated numerically as is stated hereinafter:
1. DISTRICT NO. 1 of the County Commission shall comprise
all the territory in the City of Key West, Florida, and ~he Cdunty,

of Monroe, Florida, described as follows:

Precincts 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8. Said Precincts are
legally described as follows,

Commencing on the centerline of Duval Street projected
to the waters of the Gulf of Mexico, and running thence
along the centerline of Duval Street in a southerly
direction to where it intersects the centerline of
Fleming Street including the territory to the West only.
Thence at right angles, in an easterly direction, along
the centerline of Fleming Street to where it intersects
the centerline of William Street including the territory
to the south only. Thence at right angles, in a south-
erly direction, to where it intersects the centerline
of Windsor Lane, including the territory to the west
only. Thence at an angle, in a northwesterly direction,
along the centerline of Windsor Lane to where it inter-
sects the centerline of Angela Street including the
territory to the north only. Thence at an angle, in a
westerly direction, along the centerline of Angela Street
to where it intersects with the centerline of Simonton
Street including the territory to the north only. Thence
at right angles, in a southerly direction, along the
centerline of Simonton Street to where it intersects with
the centerline of United Street including the territory
to the west only. Thence at right angles, in an easterly
direction, along the centerline of United Street to where
it intersects the centerline of White Street including
the territory to the south only. Thence at right angles,
in a southerly direction, along the centerline of White
Street to where it intersects the centerline of Flagler
Avenue including the territory to the west only. Thence

at right angles, in an easterly direction, along the
centerline of Flagler Avenue to where it intersects
with the centerline of 14th Street including the terri-
tory to the south only. Thence at right angles, in a
northerly direction, along the centerline of 14th Street
projected to the waters of the Gulf of Mexico, including
the territory to the easterly boundary of District 1.
The easterly boundary being a line projected to the
waters of the Atlantic Ocean, running in a northerly
direction, east of and parallel to U. S. Highway AlA to
a point of intersection with the centerline of Flagler
Avenue. Thence at right angles, in an easterly direction
to the centerline of Cow Key Channel. Thence at an
angle, in a northerly direction, along center of Cow
Key Channel to where it intersects the centerline of
U.S. Highway No.1. Thence at right angles along
the centerline of U. S. No. l, in an easterly direction,
to a point just short of Raccoon Key, including the
territory to the north only. Thence at an angle in a
northwesterly direction, along the waterway between
Stock Island and Raccoon Key projecting a line into
the waters of the Gulf of Mexico.
2. DISTRICT NO. 2 of the County Commission shall comprise
all the territory in the City of Key West, Florida, and the County
of Monroe, Florida, described as follows:
Precincts l, 2, and l7. Said Precincts are legally
described as follows:
The western boundary follows thus: The westerly
boundary being a line projected to the waters of the
Atlantic Ocean, running in a northerly direction, east
of the parallel to U. S. Highway AlA to a point of
intersection with the centerline of Flagler Avenue,
Key West. Thence at right angles, in an easterly
direction to the centerline of Cow Key Channel. Thence
at an angle, in a notherly direction, along center of
Cow Key Channel to where it intersects the centerline
of U. S. Highway No.1. Thence at right angles along
the centerline of U. S. Highway No. l, in an easterly
direction, to a point just short of Raccoon Key.
Thence at an angle in a northwesterly direction, along
the waterway between Stock Island and Raccoon Key pro-
jecting a line into the Gulf of Mexico. All of the
Florida Keys lying north and east of this boundary up
to the east end of the Spanish Harbor Channel Bridge,
U. S. Highway No.1, including No Name Key but not
West Summerland Key.
3. DISTRICT NO. 3 of the County Commission shall comprise
all the territory of Key West, Florida, and the County of Monroe,
Florida, not included in District 1. The boundaries being described
as follows:
Precincts 9, 10, 11, l2, 13, l4, lS, and l6. Said
Precincts are legally described as follows:
Commencing on the centerline of Duval Street projected
to the waters of the Gulf of Mexico, running thence
along the centerline of Duval Street in a southerly

direction to where it intersects the centerline of
Fleming Street including the territory to the east
only. Thence at right angles, in an easterly direc-
tion along the centerline of Fleming Street to where
it intersects the centerline of William Street in-
cluding the territory to the north only. Thence at
right angles, in a southerly direction, along the
centerline of William Street to where it intersects
the centerline of Windsor Lane, including the terri-
tory to the east only. Thence at an angle, in a
northwesterly direction, along the centerline of
Windsor Lane to where it intersects with the center-
line of Angela Street including the territory to the
south only. Thence at an angle in a westerly direc-
tion, along the centerline of Angela Street to where
it intersects with the centerline of Simonton
Street including the territory to the south only.
Thence at right angles, in a southerly direction,
along the centerline of Simonton Street to where it
intersects with the centerline of United Street in-
cluding the territory to the east only. Thence at
right angles, in an easterly direction, along the
centerline of United Street to where it intersects
the centerline of White Street including the terri-
tory to the north only. Thence at right angles, in a
southerly direction, along the centerline of White
Street to where it intersects the centerline of
Flagler Avenue including the territory to the east
only. Thence at right angles, in an easterly direc-
tion, along the centerline of Flagler Avenue, to
where it intersects with the centerline of 14th Street
including the terrirorty to the north only. Thence
at right angles, in a northerly direction, along the
centerline of 14th Street projected to the waters of
the Gulf of Mexico, including the territory to the
west only.
4. DISTRICT NO. 4 of the County Commission shall comprise
all of the territory in Monroe County, Florida, described as
follows:
Precincts 18, 19, 19A, 20 and 21. Said Precincts are
legally described as follows:
All of the Florida Keys lying north and east of the
east end of Spanish Harbor Channel Bridge, U. S.
Highway No. l, up to the Snake Creek Channel Bridge,
U. S. Highway No.1, including Windley Key but not
Plantation Key.
5. SECTION NO.5 of the County Commission shall comprise
all of the territory in Monroe County, Florida, described as
follows:
Precincts 22, 23, and 24. Said Precincts are legally
described as follows:
All of the Florida Keys lying north and east of the
Snake Creek Channel Bridge, U. S. Highway No. l,
including Plantation Key but not Windley Key, up to
and including Key Largo, and all that area in ~1onroe
County, Florida, situated upon the mainland of the
State of Florida.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY SAID BOARD that this Resolution
shall be entered into the 11inutes of the Board of County Commis-
Boners and as per Chapter 124 of the Florida Statutes published
once each week for four (4) consecutive weeks in a newspaper
published in Monroe County, Florida.
Passed and adopted by the Board of County Commissioners of
Monroe County, Florida, at a regular meeting of said Board held
