RESOLUTION
324-1981
WHEREAS, the people of Monroe County, through their
elected officials, have seen fit to cause a new library
building to be constructed in Marathon, Monroe County; and
WHEREAS, said building is near completion; and
WHEREAS, the Masonic Lodges of the United States of
America by tradition, invitation, and desire on their part
have erected cornerstones and other memorabilia on most
public buildings; and
WHEREAS, the Masonic Lodges are an integral part of
our society; and
WHEREAS, Marathon Masonic Lodge #323 of Marathon,
Florida is desirous of setting a cornerstone on the newest
structure to be erected in the County to wit: thE Marathon
Library;
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of County
Commissioners of Monroe County, Florida hereby invites and
encourages Marathon Lodge #323 to place its cornerstone on
s~id building at a time and place co~venient to this Bocrd
and to the Officers fo the Lodge.
