RESOLUTION NO. 333- 1981
RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE DEPARTMENT OF
TRANSPORTATION TO CONDUCT A TRAFFIC STUDY
TO CONSIDER INSTALLATION OF TRAFFIC LIGHT
AT THE INTERSECTION OF U.S. HIGHWAY NO. 1
AND 110TH STREET IN MARATHON, MONROE COUNTY,
FLORIDA.
WHEREAS, it has been brought to the attention of the
Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County, Florida, that there
exists a serious traffic hazard at the intersection of U.S. Highway
No. 1 and 110th Street in Marathon, Monroe County, Florida, and
WHEREAS, this area is heavily travelled by travelling
motorists and citizens of Monroe County, Florida, and
WHEREAS, the Board desires to insure the safety of said
travelling motorists and the citizens of Monroe County, Florida, now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, as follows:
1. That the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County,
Florida, hereby requests the Department of Transportation to make
a traffic study to consider the installation of a traffic light at
the intersection of U.S. Highway No.1 and 110th Street, Marathon,
Monroe County, Florida.
2. That the Clerk of said Board be and he is hereby directed
to forward a certified copy of this resolution to the Department of
Transportation of the State of Florida, Attention: Frank Deluca, for
appropriate action.
Passed and adopted by the Board of County Commissioners of
Monroe County, Florida, at a regular meeting of said Board held on
the 17th day of November, A.D. 1981.
