RESOLUTION NO.345 -1981
RESOLUTION PROCLAIHING THE INTENT OF HONROE COUNTY,
FLORIDA, TO DEVELOP AN AIRPORT FACILITY IN THE
"UPPER KEYS"; ESTABLISHING THE NEED FOR SANE; SET-
TING GUIDELINES FOR THE ACCOHPLISID1EtIT OF THIS DE-
VELOPMENT.
WHEREAS, it is necessary for the Board of County Commissioners
of Monroe County, Florida, to establish an airport in the "Upper
Keys", and
\VHEREAS, so as to gain the cooperation of the various agencies
of the State of Florida as needed to set forth said intent, the
Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County, Florida, desires to
go on record in support of such an endeavor, and
~nIEREAS, supporting funds from the State of Florida can be
made available by cooperating with the Florida Department of
Transportation in the selection of the site and environmental and
master plan studies, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE
COUNTY, FLORIDA, that
1. It is hereby set forth and proclaimed that the afore-
said Board of County Commissioners of Monore County, Florida, does
intend and will utilize all efforts to develop a new airport
facility in the "Upper Keys". That in so doing it is the intent
of this Board of County Commissioners to set forth that the afore-
said facility is needed and necessary and desired by the citizenry
of Monroe County.
2. In declaring the intent which is herein described before,
the Board of County Commissioners of Honroe County, Florida, does
pledge and utilize its fullest cooperation with the various agencies
of the State of Florida, particularly the Florida Department of
Transportation, in the selection of the site for such proposed
airport and the development of its environmental and master plan
studies for the same.
3. Nothing herein shall obstruct or forego the development
of private funds to aid in said environmental and master plan

studies or for any other legally required or involved requirements
in either the preliminaries leading up to the creation of such
airport or the actual construction thereof.
Passed and adopted by the Board of County Co~nissioners of
Monroe County, Florida, at a regular meeting of said Board held
on the 17th day of November, A.D. 1981.
