RESOLUTION NO. 512-1989
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMIS-
SIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, INDICATING
TO THE CONGRESSIONAL DELEGATION MONROE
COUNTY'S SUPPORT FOR THE DRIVER'S LICENSE
APPLICATION REGISTRATION PROVISION CONTAINED
IN HOUSE RESOLUTION 2190 AND SENATE BILL 874.

WHEREAS, legislation is pending in the House and Senate
concerning voter registration, and
WHEREAS,
Monroe County desires to indicate to the
congressional delegation its support for the driver's license
application registration provision contained in said legislation,
now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, as follows:
Section 1.
Monroe County hereby indicates its supports for
the driver's license application registration provision contained
in House Resolution 2190 and Senate Bill 874 wherein all states
would have to establish a system to register individuals to vote
in connection with driver's license renewal and application, and
each registration completed would then have to be processed by a
local election agency, usually a county election office.
Section 2. The Clerk of the Board is hereby directed to
forward certified copies of this Resolution to the Honorable
Dante Fasce11, the Honorable Connie Mack and the Honorable Bob
Graham to indicate to the congressional delegation Monroe
County's support for that portion of House Resolution 2190 and
Senate Bill 874 as indicated in Section (1) above.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Monroe County, Florida, a special meeting of the Board held on
the 30th day of August, 1989.
