A RESOLUTION BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA,
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO APPROVE THE
AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF KEY WEST
AND MONROE COUNTY NUTRITION PROGRAM
CONCERNING THE SPECIAL SUMMER LUNCH
PROGRAM FOR CHILDREN
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the Mayor/Chairman of the Board
is hereby authorized to approve the agreement between the City
of Key West and the Monroe County Nutrition Program concerning
the Special Summer Lunch Program, 1989, a copy of same being
attached hereto.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Monroe County, Florida, at a regular meeting of said Board held

~ INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT
WHEREAS, the CITY OF KEY WEST, Florida and MONROE COUNTY,
Florida desire to implement a summer food service program in order to
provide free noontime meals for children under 18 at the City of Key
West Community Pool, NOW THEREFORE,
IT IS HEREBY MUTUALLY AGREED between COUNTY and CITY as follows:
The MONROE COUNTY NUTRITION PROGRAM shall package and deliver food
for the program to the CITY. The CITY shall pay the COUNTY a handling
charge at the rate of $1.36 per meal provided for which the COUNTY
shall pay the Nutrition Program caterer, G.A. Food Services, Inc. $1.06
per meal.
The CITY shall seek funding from the State of Florida in the
amount of $1.78 per meal provided to cover costs of payment to the
COUNTY as well as administrative costs of the program.
The CITY hereby indemnifies and holds the COUNTY harmless for any
and all claims of any nature arising from the COUNTY's involvement in
the Program as described herein, and agrees to defend and pay any and
all costs for said defense, including attorney's fees and court costs,
should such claim(s) occur. The COUNTY hereby indemnifies and holds
the CITY harmless for any and all claims of any nature arising from
the CITY's involvement in the Program as described herein, and agrees
to defend and pay any and all costs for said definse, including
attorney's fees and court costs, should such claim(s) occur.
This Interlocal Agreement shall be effective during the 1989
summer lunch program beginning no earlier than June 19, 1989 and ending
not later than August 18, 1989.
The program shall be administered by the CITY as sponsor/monitor, and
services shall be provided at the CITY's Community Pool, 300 Catherine
Street, Key West, Florida.
