RESOLUTION NO._ -2005
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMSSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDAJ
TO CREATE AN ONGOING DEBRIS REMOVAL
PROCESS.
WHEREAS, the Florida Keys are subject to storm damages from cyclonic
systems for six months each year, and
WHEREAS, it is incumbent upon us and is in the islands' best interest to
provide ongoing debris removal so that the beauty of the Keys is not diminished by make
shift dump sites and mounds of roadside debris, and
WHEREAS, the simplest and cheapest way to achieve this is to take debris to
central locations,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, THAT:
1. Certain locations along the Keys be designated as areas where citizens
may transport and deposit storm debris at no cost to them.
2. The Director of Public Works is hereby authorized to determine the sites
which can be most efficiently accessed by the public, the removal
contractors, and County employees, and to declare the sites which shall be
used for the above stated purpose.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Monroe County this 21st day of December, 2005
