07/31/2002 SpecialMINUTES OF THE MONROE COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS Special Meeting Board of County Commissioners Wednesday, July 31, 2002 Key West, Florida 2002/200 A Special Meeting of the Monroe County Board of County Commissioners convened at 10:00 A.M., on the above date at the Harvey Government Center. Present and answering to roll call were Commissioner Humberto "Bert" Jimenez, Commissioner George Neugent, Commissioner Dixie Spehar, and Mayor Charles "Sonny" McCoy. Absent was Commissioner Murray Nelson. Also present were Danny L. Kolhage, Clerk; James Roberts, County Administrator; Rob Wolfe, Chief Assistant County Attorney; County Staff, members of the press and radio; and the general public. All stood for the Invocation and Pledge of Allegiance. ADDITIONS, CORRECTIONS, DELETIONS There were no Additions, Corrections, or Deletions made to the Agenda. COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR County Administrator James Roberts discussed with the Board the Contract with Key West Resort Utilities Corporation for capacity reservation and infrastructure. The following individuals addressed the Board: Dr. David Rice, DeeVon Quirolo, representing Reef Relief, and R. L. Blazevic. After discussion, motion was made by Commissioner Neugent and seconded by Commissioner Spehar to adopt the following Resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute on behalf of Monroe County a Contract with KW Resort Utility, Inc., for the construction of wastewater collection infrastructure for South Stock Island. Said Resolution and Contract are to have the date of the plans (Exhibit A) from Weiler Engineering Corporation changed from May 16, 2002 to May 30, 2002. Roll call vote was unanimous. RESOLUTION NO.312-2002 Said Resolution is incorporated herein by reference. Mr. Roberts advised the Board that the results of the Primary Election scheduled for September 10, 2002, will be televised on the County's cable Channel 16 from the Harvey Government Center in Key West, and possibly the November election as well. Mayor McCoy discussed responses from residents of the Blue Water RV Resort concerning the Board's action of July 19, 2002. 07/31 /02 2002/201 There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting adjourned.
