Tuesday, March 7, 2006
Key West, Florida
A Special Meeting of the Monroe County Board of County Commissioners convened at
9:00 A.M., at the Harvey Government Center. Present and answering to roll call were :llf:
Commissioner Murray E. Nelson, Commissioner George R. Neugent and Mayor Charles "Sonny"
McCoy. Absent was Commissioner David P. Rice and Commissioner Dixie M. Spehar. Also
present were Danny L. Kolhage, Clerk; Isabel C. DeSantis, Deputy Clerk; Suzanne Hutton,
Interim County Attorney; Thomas Willi, County Administrator; County Staff, members of the
press and radio; and the general public.
All stood for the Invocation and Pledge of Allegiance.
ADDITIONS, CORRECTIONS, DELETIONS
There were no Additions, Corrections, or Deletions made to the agenda.
2007 BUDGET PROCESS
Tom Willi, County Administrator addressed the Board. The Board was provided with the
documents entitled: Fund Balance Discussion and Fiscal Year 2007 Monroe County Budget-
Overview of the Fiscal Year 2006 Adopted Budget. Sal Zappulla, Budget and Finance Division
Director made a presentation concerning Fund Balances. Mr. Willi discussed a request for
direction on policy issues regarding the fiscal year 2007 budget process.
The Board discussed human service organization funding and direction to the Human
Services Advisory Board for fiscal year 2007.
MISCELLANEOUS
The Board discussed windstorm insurance costs, affordable housing, and property taxes.
There being no further business, the meeting of the Board of County Commissioners was
adjourned.
