02/08/2007 Special 22 MINUTES OF THE MONROE COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS Special Meeting Board of County Commissioners Thursday, February 8, 2007 Key West, Florida A Special Meeting of the Monroe County Board of County Commissioners convened at I :00 P.M., at the Harvey Government Center. Present and answering to roll call were Commissioner Charles "Sonny" McCoy, Commissioner Sylvia Murphy, Commissioner George R. Neugent, Commissioner Dixie M. Spehar and Mayor Mario DiGennaro. Also present at the meeting were Thomas Willi, County Administrator; Danny L. Kolhage, Clerk; County Staff, members of the press and radio; and the general public. WORKSHOP A Workshop was held between the BOCC and Tom Willi, County Administrator for purposes of a performance evaluation, as set forth in his contract. Mr. Willi addressed the Board concerning his performance as County Administrator. After discussion, motion was made by Commissioner Spehar and seconded by Commissioner Murphy to open the agenda Roll call vote was taken with the following results: Commissioner McCoy Yes Commissioner Murphy Yes Commissioner Neugent No Commissioner Spehar Yes Mayor DiGennaro Yes Motion carried. Motion was made by Commissioner Murphy and seconded by Mayor DiGennaro to add to today's agenda termination of the employment contract with the County Administrator. Roll call vote was unanimous. The following individuals addressed the Board: Morgan McPherson, Mayor of the City of Key West; Bill Verge, Key West City Commissioner; Mike Puto, City Manager- City of Marathon; Peter Kirsch, Sheila Barker, Crista Coleman, Sue Heim, Ed Frost, Harry Miller, Frank Rego, representing Cay Clubs; Kay Thacker and Fred Nickerson, representing the Island of Key Largo Federation of Homeowner Associations, Inc.; Harry Kostic, Ron Miller, representing the Upper Keys Citizens Association; Pauline Klein, and Peter Horton, Monroe County Director of Airports 23 Motion was made by Commissioner Murphy and seconded by Commissioner Neugent to terminate the County Administrator's employment contract, without cause. Roll call vote was taken with the following results Commissioner McCoy No Commissioner Murphy Yes Commissioner Neugent Yes Commissioner Spehar No Mayor DiGennaro No Motion carried. Motion was made by Commissioner Spehar and seconded by Commissioner Murphy to schedule workshop meetings on the first Wednesday of each month. Motion carried unanimously. There being no further business, the meeting of the Board 0 County Commissioners was adjourned. Danny L.
