Al Special Meeting of the Monroe County Board of County Commissioners convened at
2:00 P.M., at the Marathon Government Center. Present and answering to roll call were
Commissioner Mario DiGennaro, Commissioner Sylvia Murphy, Commissioner Kim Wigington,
and Mayor George Neugent. Allso present at the meeting were Roman Gastesi, County
Aldministrator; Debbie Frederick, Alssistant County Aldministrator; Suzanne Hutton, County
Alttorney; Isabel C. DeSantis, Deputy Clerk; County Staff, members of the press and radio; and
the general public.
ADDITIONS, CORRECTIONS, DELETIONS
There were no Aldditions, Corrections, or Deletions made to the Algenda.
COUNTY ATTORNEY
The Board discussed a Standard Legal Services Algreement between Monroe County and
Timothy Volpe, Esq. of the firm Volpe, Bajalia, Wickes, Rogerson & Wachs, P.Al. for legal
services related to wind storm insurance coverage and rates. The following individuals
addressed the Board: Daniel Samass, representing the Marathon Chamber of Commerce; Mel
Montagne, representing Fair Insurance Rates In Monroe County; Ron Miller, representing the
Islands of Key Largo Federation of Homeowner's Alssociation; Jan Marie Weatherhead, and John
Whalton. Alfter discussion, motion was made by Commissioner DiGennaro and seconded by
Commissioner Carruthers granting approval and authorizing execution of the agreement. Motion
carried unanimously.
Motion was made by Commissioner DiGennaro and seconded by Commissioner
Carruthers renewing the motion to approve an Algreement for Consulting Services for Windstorm
Insurance Alctuarial Consulting Services between Monroe County and AlIS Risk Consultants.
Motion carried unanimously.
There being no further business, the meeting of the Board of County Commissioners was
adjourned.
