03/11/1991 Special UU102 Special Meeting Board of County Commissioners Monday, March ll, 1991 Key West A Special Meeting of the Monroe County Board of County Commissioners convened at ll:OO a.m. on the above date in the Chapel on Stock Island, Key West. Present and answering to roll call were Commissioner Earl Cheal, Commissioner Douglas Jones, Commissioner Jack London, Commissioner John Stormont, and Mayor Wilhelmina Harvey. Also present were Danny Kolhage, Clerk; Randy Ludacer, County Attorney; Tom Brown, County Administrator; County Staff; members of the Press and Radio; and the general public. The Board welcomed the new Secretary of the Florida Department of Community Affairs, Mr. William E. Sadowski. Mr. Sadowski introduced his staff. Mr. Sadowski and indivi- dual Commissioners proceeded to a discussion of items of joint concern to both the Department and the County. Board members and staff gave their comments concerning the rela- tionship between the County and the Department of Community Affairs. There was no further action taken on this matter. County Administrator Tom Brown advised that there was a meeting today at 2:30 p.m. at the Federal Building with the Special Master concerning the Jail. Mr. Brown also asked the Board to consider as an emergency item the failure of the l5-ton air-conditioning unit in the Main Courthouse and requested the Board to con- sider on an emergency basis the proposal from Parker Refrigeration for replacement of the unit in the amount of $12,795.00. Motion was made by Commissioner London and seconded by Commissioner Cheal to approve the proposal from Parker Refrigeration for replacement of the l5-ton air- conditioning unit in the Main Courthouse. Motion carried unanimously. There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned. * * * * *
