01/11/2001 Special/Joint 2001/003 MINUTES OF THE MONROE COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS SpeciaVJoint Meeting Board of County Commissioners Thursday, January 11, 2001 Islamorada, FL A Special Meeting of the Monroe County Board of County Commissioners convened at 10:00 A.M., on the above date at the Islamorada Founders Park Meeting Room. Present and answering to roll call for Monroe County were Commissioner Charles "Sonny" McCoy, Commissioner Murray Nelson, Commissioner Dixie Spehar, Commissioner Nora Williams, and Mayor George Neugent. Present and answering to roll call for the Village were Councilman George Geisler, Councilman Mark Gregg, Councilman Ron Levy, Vice Mayor Frank Kulisky, and Mayor James Mooney. Also present were Isabel C. DeSantis, Deputy Clerk~ James Roberts, County Administrator~ County Attorney James T. Hendrick~ County Staff, members of the press and radio~ and the general public. CONFLICT RESOLUTION MEETING Formal introductions were made by each Commissioner from both Boards. Attorney Dan Weiss, representing the Village made a presentation concerning certain stages of the Conflict Resolution process and its statutory authority. Councilman Levy addressed both Boards. Attorney James T. Hendrick, representing Monroe County also made a presentation to the Boards concerning Monroe County's position. County Administrator James Roberts addressed the Board. After discussion, the Boards directed Staff from both the County and Village to work together to discuss areas of agreement. Motion was then made by Commissioner Nelson and seconded by Commissioner Williams to continue this meeting and call a Special Meeting in Marathon. Motion carried unanimously. There being no further business to come before the Boards, the meeting was adjourned. Danny L.
