A special meeting of the Monroe County Board of County Commissioners convened at 9:30 a.m.
at the Marathon Government Center. Present and answering to roll call were Commissioner
Danny Kolhage, Commissioner Sylvia Murphy, Commissioner George Neugent, Commissioner
David Rice, and Mayor Heather Carruthers. Also present at the meeting were Bob Shillinger,
County Attorney; Roman Gastesi; County Administrator, Cheryl Robertson, Deputy Clerk;
county staff and members of the general public.

Item Al There were no additions, corrections, or deletions.
CLOSED SESSION
Item B 1 Bob Shillinger County Attorney announced an Attorney - Client Closed Session in
the matter of Galleon Bay Corp. v Monroe County & State of Florida, Case No.
2002 -CA- 595 -K. Script read into the record.
Mayor Heather Carruthers declared the closed meeting ended and returned to the
open session.

Part 1: Sustainability Results and Projects- Erin Deady, P.A. discussed the
results of the STAR Assessment, the recommendations, and the 5 year plan.
Erin Deady, P.A. laid the foundation and as well as several other speakers for the
afternoon.
Part 2: Sea Level Rise and Vulnerability Assessment Results
Dr. Evans, Stetson University, discussed Sea Level Rise modeling and the
vulnerabilities.
The Future of Monroe County and the Keys- Creative Adaptation, Smart Design,
New Uses -Ronda Haag, Sustainability Coordinator.
