09/30/2019 Special MINUTES OF THE MONROE COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS Special Meeting Board of County Commissioners Monday, September 30, 2019 Marathon, Florida A special meeting of the Monroe County Board of County Commissioners convened at 3:00 p.m. at the Marathon Government Center. Present and answering to roll call were Commissioner Heather Carruthers, Commissioner Michelle Coldiron, Commissioner David Rice and Mayor Sylvia Murphy. Commissioner Danny Kolhage appeared telephonically. Also present at the meeting were Bob Shillinger, County Attorney; Kevin Madok, Clerk of Court; Sally Abrams, Deputy Clerk; county staff, members of the press and radio; and the general public. Bob Shillinger, County Attorney, addressed the Board. Motion was made by Commissioner Carruthers and seconded by Commissioner Rice finding the meeting an extraordinary circumstance and allowing Commissioner Kolhage to appear by phone. Roll call vote carried unanimously, with Commissioner Kolhage abstaining from the vote. PUBLIC HEARING Al A Public Hearing was held to consider approval of an emergency Ordinance to extend the six-cent local option County fuel tax in accordance with Section 336.025, Florida Statutes. Mr. Shillinger and Kevin Wilson, Assistant County Administrator, addressed the Board. After discussion, motion was made by Commissioner Rice and seconded by Commissioner Carruthers finding that an emergency exists and to adopt the following Ordinance. Roll call vote carried unanimously. ORDINANCE NO. 033-2019 Said Ordinance is incorporated herein by reference. There being no further business, the meeting of the Board of County Commissioners was adjourned.
