04/02/2005 Special MINUTES OF THE MONROE COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS 2005/66 Special Meeting Board of County Commissioners Saturday, April 2, 2005 Key West, Florida A Special Meeting of the Monroe County Board of County Commissioners convened at 6:30 P.M., at the Tennessee Williams Theatre. Present and answering to roll call were Commissioner George R Neugent, Commissioner David P. Rice, Mayor Dixie M. Spehar, FKAA Board Members Elena Herrera, Mary Rice, General Counsel Robert Feldman and Executive Director James Reynolds. Commissioner Charles "Sonny" McCoy arrived later in the meeting. Absent was Commissioner Murray Nelson. Also present were Danny L. Kolhage, Clerk; Pamela G. Hancock, Deputy Clerk; Richard Collins, County Attorney; Thomas Willi, County Administrator; County Staff, members of the press and radio; and the general public. All stood for the Invocation and Pledge of Allegiance. ADDITIONS, CORRECTIONS, DELETIONS There were no additions, corrections or deletions to the agenda, W ASTEW A TER ISSUES Mayor Spehar requested approval to have the following individuals give a brief statement to the Board: Bill Barry, representing KW Resort Utilities; Don Riggs, representing MlO Coalition, and Glen Owens, resident Tamarac Park followed by public speakers from the audience. Motion was made by Commissioner Rice and seconded by Commissioner Neugent granting approval of Mayor Spehar's request. Motion carried unanimously. The following individuals addressed the Board: Bill Barry, representing KW Resort Utilities; Don Riggs, representing MIO Coalition; Glen Owens, representing Tamarac Park Property Owners Association; Gordon Ross, E.A Jackson Morris, representing Seaside Resort, Inc.; Reese Palley, Basil Cheney, Ross Murphy, Sandra Walters, Connie Kramer, Cher Grant-Huot, Mayor Spehar read H.T. Pontin's letter into the record, and Deevon Quirolo, representing Reef Relief The Boards, staff and County Administrator Thomas Willi discussed the wastewater issues for Rockland Key, Big Coppitt Key, Geiger Key, Shark Key and Boca Chica Road. Commissioner McCoy arrived at the meeting. 04/02/2005 2005/67 There being no further business, the meeting of the Board of County Commissioners was adjourned. Danny L.
