11/19/2001 Special MINUTES OF THE MONROE COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS 2001/328 Special Meeting Board of County Commissioners Monday, November 19,2001 Marathon, Florida A Special Meeting of the Monroe County Board of County Commissioners convened at 4:00 P.M., on the above date in the Marathon Government Center. Present and answering to roll call were Commissioner Charles "Sonny" McCoy, Commissioner Murray Nelson, Commissioner Dixie Spehar, Commissioner Nora Williams, and Mayor George Neugent. Also present were Danny L. Kolhage, Clerk; James L. Roberts, County Administrator; James T. Hendrick, County Attorney; County Staff, members of the press and radio; and the general public. All stood for the Invocation and Pledge of Allegiance. ADDITIONS, CORRECTIONS, AND DELETIONS There were no Additions, Corrections, or Deletions made to the agenda. Commissioner Williams discussed the format for today's meeting concerning discussion of issues that are pertinent to wastewater through various government entities that have a role in the wastewater portion of our Comprehensive Plan Rule. Commissioner Williams discussed questions per the question list with representatives of State and Federal Agencies. The following individuals addressed the Board: Monroe County Growth Management Director Tim McGarry; Bobbi Sleighter, representing the Monroe County Health Department and the Department of Health; Dick Smith, representing the Department of Environmental Protection and the Bureau of Water Facilities Funding; Roger Braun, Executive Director; Bob Feldman, General Counsel; Jack Teague, Wastewater Programs Administrator; and John Koenig, Chairman, all representing the Florida Keys Aqueduct Authority; Miles Anderson, Rebecca Jetton, and Mike McDaniels all representing the Florida Department of Community Affairs; Bob Freeman, Richard Harvey and Bill Kruczynski, all representing the Environmental Protection Agency; Science Kilner and Lawrence Frank, representing the Federal Emergency Management Agency; Debbie Peterson, representing the Army Corps of Engineers; Rhonda Haag and Mike Collins, representing the South Florida Water Management; Tim Burgin, and Cheryl Ulrich. The Mayor and the full Board discussed issues pertinent to wastewater funding. There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was adjourned. 11/19/01 Danny L.
