Key West, Florida
A Special Meeting convened at 2:00 P.M. on the above date at the Harvey Government
Center. Present and answering to roll call were Commissioner George R. Neugent,
Commissioner Glenn Patton, Commissioner David P. Rice, and Commissioner Dixie M. Spehar.
Absent was Mayor Charles "Sonny" McCoy. Also present were Danny L Kolhage, Clerk; Isabel
C. DeSantis, Deputy Clerk; Suzanne Hutton, County Attorney; Thomas Willi, County
Administrator; County Staff, members of the press and radio; and the general public.
FISCAL YEAR 2007 BUDGET MEETING
Tom Willi, County Administrator, presented an Overview and Budget Message for the
Proposed Fiscal Year 2007 Annual Operating & Capital Budget.
Sal Zappulla, Budget & Finance Division Director, discussed Millage Sheet Page B-38
and other pertinent sections of the proposed FY 2007 budget.
Commissioner Neugent discussed a previous request of $1 00,000 intended for the Gulf
Coast community as a result of Hurricane Katrina in 2005 and the later decision to spend those
funds locally for the needs of commercial fishermen throughout the County due to last year's
2005 Hurricane Season. Suzanne Hutton, County Attorney and Mr. Wi111i addressed the Board.
After discussion, motion was made by Commissioner Neugent and seconded by Commissioner
Rice directing the County Administrator to work with the Marine Resources Department and the
State in obtaining funds in the amount up to $100,000 to assist in trap removal and debris
cleanup. Motion carried unanimously, with Mayor McCoy absent.
There being no further business, the meeting of the Board of County Commissioners was
adjourned.
