We are currently preparing for the 2006-07 racing season. We anticipate a successful season and will be traveling to numerous meets throughout South Florida. As you are aware our team is responsible for all finances incurred throughout the season. In the past we have received generous support from your organization. With your past support we were able to purchase a variety of training items, new uniforms and assistance with travel to running camps. This year we would like to request continued financial support to assist with camp expenses, equipment and uniform replacements. I estimate the cost for these requests at approximately three thousand dollars. Your past generosity and consideration has contributed to the overall success of our program. Both of our girls and boys cross country teams recently won the County Championship Meet. I hope to hear from you in the near future. 89901 Old Highway Tavernier, FL 33070-2198 Phone: (305) 853-3222 Fax: (305) 853-3228 Ron Martin Principal David Murphy Assistant Principal Extension 333 Sincerely, Blake Fry Assistant Principal Extension 310 Chris Harris College and Career Counselor Extehsion 415 ~~~ fi-~ Mary Jo Fry Varsity Track and Cross Country Coach Coral Shores High School G l)'ti ~&1\ \ \ lov \0 )) ~~ ~ -0 :J: :0 . . PROGRAM Sheriffs, First and foremost, I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to the 17 Sheriffs who have already sent in their checks to support our FSA adopted Child J.D. Program. Several others have called letting us know that they are in the formal process of securing SLETF Funds and we will have their checks soon. Unfortunately, a few others have called to let us know that they simple cannot participate due to fiscal constraints, and we fully understand. The American Football Coaches Association and FSA friend and supporter Bobby Bowden have assured us that the children in ALL Florida Counties will receive these kits. The coaches have banned together and will make up the difference in those counties that were unable to offer financial support. A Texas corporation has offered to assist the Sheriffs of Florida with a donation of approximately $2.2 million, but in order to be eligible for these foods we must be at the 50% mark by November 1st. If you are currently in the process of securing these funds, please send me a quick e-mail and we will add you to our list of supporters. If the funds are simply not there, we understand but we would like to have your permission to move fonvard in securing the kits for your children. ~tS To determine your agency's contribution please refer to my letter dated August -0006. I thank you! .9.560 ~/~ ~I Jf"i DO 7(.oC; - 'P3IrJ!,2 / ~/.yr~ 'f( Ir October t 8, 2006 Dear Sheriff, I hope this email finds you well and thank you for all you do to protect and serve the citizens of Florida. As you know, the AFCA and FBI's National Child Identification Program has begun an initiative to provide ID kits to all 2.6 million children in Florida. Sheriffs across the state have shown great respOnse so far. The Florida Sheriffs Association and Florida Association of District School Superintendents have joined forces to ensure the success of this initiative. With your help and the cooperation of the other Florida sheriffs. we can make sure that every single child in Florida, kindergarten.t2th grade. is protected. I know that child safety is a top priority on all our lists and this program'wlllbe a. great success. . The Child tD Program has secured matching funds in excess of $2 million to help ensure that we meet our goal of getting a kit to every child in Florida. In order to be eligible for the matching funds, all funds or commitments to locate funding must be secured by November 1,2006. Through your help and. leadership, I have no doubt we will meet our goal. I encourage you to act quickly and help make this project the most successful initiative in the country. Remember. with the matching funds in place, you only need to provide about .45 cents of the total $1.85 cost per child. This isa small price to pay to protect a child's life. The Superintendents across the state are also working hard to meet their .45 cents per child commitment. If you have any questions, concerns or need more time finding funds for your county, please contact my good friend and your association President Larry Campbell at (850) 922-3328 and ask for Jimmy Williams, the Sheriffs program coordinator. Thanks again for being part of the team that protects Florida's children. We're In the fourth quarter. you have the ball, let's make it happen!
