MEMORANDUM TO: Board of County Commissioners FROM: Deb BarselI, Director Community Services Division DATE: February 21, 2007 SUBJECT: Monroe County Shelter Generator Project Grant Application On February 20, 2007, Lisa King, Langton & Associates contacted this office stating that she has found a grant from the Florida Division of Emergency Management for the amount of $195,000 with no County match. This grant will ensure that six (6) of the County's Category 1 and 2 shelters will have back-up pow and will enhance the county's ability to support disaster preparedness and response efforts. The Monroe County Shelter Generator Project will ensure that six of the County's Category I and 2 shelters will have back-up power, This application is requesting $195,000 in grant funds. Only the entities identified in the application are involved in the proposed project.
