(. 0- W c;,' <j'" , - -, ~ , :z:: r' ..... .." \.J..J ~ 0 ...J u... -if':':, I J'-" -0 :...) 0::: % ~ RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE ALLIANCE FOR AGING OF DADE AND MONROE COUNTIES TO ALLOCATE A MINIMUM OF FIVE PERCENT OF NON-REOCCURRING FUNDS TO MONROE COUNTY. RESOLUTION NO. 198_1990 WHEREAS, Monroe County has a population of elderly (age 60 and over) of 18,000, and WHEREAS, the Monroe County Department of Social Services has several programs for the elderly: nutrition program, in-home program, transportation program, senior community employment program, Bayshore Manor (ACLF) and welfare services, and WHEREAS, the Monroe County Department of Social Services has a budget of 3.5 Million Dollars to provide services for the needy, elderly, and disabled, and WHEREAS, the Monroe County Department of Social Services receives various federal and state grants for programs for the elderly, and WHEREAS, the Monroe County Department of Social Services needs additional funds because of inflation in existing programs, to fund new programs such as adult daycare and to supplement priority programs such as Meals on Wheels and transportation, now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County, Florida, as follows: 1. The Alliance for Aging for Dade and Monroe Counties is hereby requested to allocate a minimum of five percent (5%) of non-reoccurring funds to Monroe County. 2. The Clerk of the Board is hereby directed to forward a copy of this Resolution to the Alliance for Aging of Dade and Monroe Counties.
