RESOLUTION NO. 352 -1990

A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMIS-
SIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, CREATING THE
MATECUMBE HISTORICAL BOARD; STATING THE GOALS OF
AND APPOINTING FIVE INITIAL MEMBERS TO THE SAID
BOARD.
WHEREAS, in order to develop an information base and help
preserve historial sites in Upper and Lower Matecumbe Key, the
Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County, Florida, desires
to create a Matecumbe Historial Board consisting of five members;
now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, as follows:
1. The Board hereby creates the Matecumbe Historical
Board.
2. The goals of the Matecumbe Historical Board are as
follows:
a. To help identify, catalog and seek historical
preservation status for those si tes, buildings, and
historically significant architectural remains on Upper
and Lower Matecumbe Key.
b. To develop an information base to benefit the
knowledge of the citizens and the visitors of Monroe
County of the unique cultural heritage of Upper and
Lower Matecumbe Key.
c. To have said information and the sites
preserved for the education and enlightenment of future
generations.
d. To have the Board of County Commissioners of
Monroe County, Florida, consider the findings of the
Matecumbe Historical Board and to develop a section in
the Islamorada Branch Library to catalog and offer for
study the information collected.
e. To have the Board of County Commissioners of
Monroe County, Florida, consider Historical Designation
Status for those sites so recommended by the Matecumbe
Historical Board.
Sectiop. 3.
The Board of County Commissioners hereby
appoints the following five (5) initial members to the Matecumbe
Historical Board, whose terms shall be for two Gl consecutive
years, beginning
July 11

Shirley C. Albury
J. Wayne Bean
Jim Clupper
Irving Eyster
Joy Lindskold
Upon the expiration of the initial members' terms, the individual
Monroe County Commissioners shall designate their appointees.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Monroe County, Florida, at a regular meeting of said Board held
