FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF ADMINISTRATION, DIVISION OF
RETIREMENT, FOR PARTICIPATION OF THE MONROE
COUNTY FINE ARTS COUNCIL IN THE FLORIDA
RETIREMENT SYSTEM AND REQUESTING A SEPARATE
REPORTING UNIT NUMBER.
WHEREAS, The Florida Department of Administration, Division
of Retirement, has issued an opinion that employees of the Monroe
County Fine Arts Council are compulsory members of the Florida
Retirement System (FRS), and
WHEREAS, the said opinion requires that application be made
to the Division of Retirement for a separate reporting unit
number; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the Board hereby petitions the
Florida Department of Administration, Division of Retirement for
participation of the Monroe County Fine Arts Council in the
Florida Retirement System, and ultimately assumes responsibility
for the payment of retirement and social security contributions
for the employees of the Monroe County Fine Arts Council"
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Monroe County, Florida, at a regular meeting of the Board held on
