Project Description
The project entails minor demolition and re -construction of a 400-foot long pier at Higg's Beach lo-
cated in Key West, Florida. The original pier was partially destroyed during the 2004-2005 hurri-
cane seasons. The existing concrete structure shall remain and be repaired as required by approved
drawings and permits.

Current Activity
Permit received from City of Key West May 2, 2007. Barge with crane arrived May 18, 2007. Mobilization,
fencing of project site and placement of turbidity screens complete. As of July 2, 2007 all but 3 stringers have
been removed. Replacement stringers have been delivered to project construction site. Army Corp of Engi-
neers and FEMA required grid deck replacement are on order.
