RESOLUTION NO. 272 -2007
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, REQUESTING THAT THE FLORIDA
DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION REPAIR, ON AN
EMERGENCY BASIS, NORTH ROOSEVELT BOULEVARD;
PROVIDING FOR THE DISTRIBUTION OF THIS RESOLUTION;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, North Roosevelt Boulevard is in a deplorable condition that presents an
immediate and on-going hazard to the residents and visitors of the City of Key West and Monroe
County; and
WHEREAS, the condition of North Roosevelt Boulevard requires immediate repair in
order to protect the health, safety and welfare of individuals traveling over said roadway; and
WHEREAS, on August 7, 2007, the City Commission of the City of Key West, Florida,
by Resolution No. 07-272, declared the condition of North Roosevelt Boulevard to be in said
immediate hazardous state of disrepair, presenting an immediate danger to the citizens and
visitors of Key West and Monroe County, Florida; and
WHEREAS, North Roosevelt Boulevard is part of the highway system of the State of
Florida and of the United States of America;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, THAT:
Section 1: The Florida Department of Transportation is hereby requested to
immediately make emergency repairs to North Roosevelt Boulevard to ensure the safety of the
public.
Section 2: The County Clerk is directed to forward this resolution to Florida
Department of Transportation Secretary Kopelousos, Governor Crist and members of the Florida
Cabinet.
Section 3: This Resolution shall go into effect immediately upon its passage and
adoption and authentication by the signature of the presiding officer and the Clerk of the
Commission.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County,
Florida, at a meeting of the Board held on the 15th day of August, 2007.
