ORDINANCE NO. 048 -1988
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING A ONE TIME PAYMENT
OF $5000 TO A NONPROFIT CORPORATION FOR THE
PURPOSE OF PROVIDING A VOCATIONAL SCHOOL FOR
THE CITIZENS OF MONROE COUNTY; PROVIDING FOR
THE APPLICATION FOR SUCH FUNDS TO THE COUNTY
ADMINISTRATOR AND PROVIDING FOR STANDARDS FOR
THE COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR TO EVALUATE AN
APPLICATION BEFORE PAYING OVER THE FUNDS;
PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR
REPEAL OF ALL ORDINANCES INCONSISTENT HERE-
WITH; PROVIDING FOR INCORPORATION INTO THE
MONROE COUNTY CODE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFEC-
TIvE DATE.
WHEREAS, there exists a need for financial assistance to aid
a vocational school to assist residents in Monroe County; and
WHEREAS, Monroe County desires to make a financial contribu-

tion to assist a vocational educational school in Monroe County;

WHEREAS, the funding herein is for a public purpose and will
benefit Monroe County; now, therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA:
Section 1.
There is hereby authorized and set aside a
single one time award of $5000 for the purpose
of aiding any

application for the funds to the County AdministratQr
determined that:
!:;;,
a) The vocational school proposed by the applicant
serves a valid public purpose; and
b) The vocational school and its programs will be
equally open to all the citizens of Monroe County and does
not duplicate services already provided under tax supported
adult education programs of the Monroe County School Board
or Florida Keys Community College; and
c) The vocational school has been accredited by the
Florida State Department of Education; and
d) The vocational school has been certified by the
u.S. Veterans Administration.
Section 2.
If any section, subsection, sentence, clause
or provision of this Ordinance is held invalid, the remainder of
this Ordinance shall not be affected by such invalidity.
Section 3.
All ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict with this Ordinance are hereby repealed to the extent of
said conflict.
Section 4.
The provisions of this Ordinance shall be
included and incorporated in the Code of Ordinances of the County
of Monroe, Florida, as an addition or amendment thereto, and
shall be appropriately renumbered to conform to the uniform
numbering system of the Code.
Section 5.
This Ordinance shall take effect immediately
upon receipt of official notice from the Office of the Secretary
of State of the State of Florida that this Ordinance has been
filed with said Office.

Monroe County, Florida, at a regular meeting of said Board held
