Included with this narrative are an updated schedule, reflecting all changes and completion of activities related to this project, and a copy of the agenda for the monthly conference call. Additional documentation related to the project funding will be provided under separate cover to the appropriate parties. A conference call between the stakeholders took place on Tuesday, September 11 th, 2007 at 1 :00 PM EDST. Parties to the conference call were: Sheri Lohr, Chris Norwood, Bob Smith, JoEllen Sullenger (ARK) Joe Davis (BB&T) Captain Jim Scholl, Bill Verge, Commissioner (City of Key West) Richard Sobocinski, Martha Scalf, Chris Stevans (Colonna's Shipyard, Inc.) William Horn (Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission) Zoe Goss (MARAD) Chris Adryan, Jeffrey C. Dey, Joe Weatherby (REEFMAKERS) Chief Stewart, Lt. P. Zohorsky (USCG) Project status was discussed as follows in this narrative. Captain Scholl of the City of Key West discussed points to be addressed including: 1274 N. Church Street, Moorestown, New Jersey 08057 (609) 352-5389 exact time line for docking of the Vandenberg in Key West mooring specifications evolution of transport to the site tow plan pier side obligations of the various parties Navy coordination Evolution of the installation of cutting charges An initial meeting had taken place in April 2007 in Key West to discuss these issues. Additional integration with the appropriate personnel in Key West is to take place in addition to review deployment documentation. The knuckle removal, previously scheduled for August 25th, is tentatively rescheduled for September 22"d. During the initial lift, the knuckles failed to release from the barbettes. Robert Scabarozi of Riverside Research, experienced with the radar assembly on Observation Island which is identical to the assemblies on the Vandenberg, completed a site visit at the Vandenberg on September 4-6. Mr. Scabarozi provided additional information to facilitate this lift. Re-ballasting of ballast water from the port cylindrical tanks to the starboard cylindrical tanks we be completed in preparation of the lift. During this reporting period cleaning and preparation has been concentrated in the area of potentially PCB containing material in the form of cable and ventilation gaskets. Tank cleaning has also continued. Tank inspection is to be delayed until all tanks are cleaned excluding the two tanks which are to be cleaned during the dry-dock period. PCB removal continued throughout this reporting period. It is the intent to remove all materials suspected of containing PCBs to limit the need for testing. Cable removal of 164,500ft and approximately 650 ventilation gaskets, for a total of 72,413Ibs., have been removed from the site and disposed by TW Services. Non potentially PCB containing ventilation ducting of 18.2 tons has been removed and recycled by SIMS. Five tanks were cleaned during this period; the 4 center double bottom, 4 port double bottom, 6 starboard double bottom, numbers 1 and 2 bilge tanks. Inspections were not scheduled during this period. General cleaning, which includes removal of debris from storage areas, removal of cabinets, berthing, any items that may become loose during the reefing process and items from living areas continued throughout this reporting period. This general cleaning has resulted in general waste/debris of 5 tons which have been removed by Waste Management Services. Paint removal in preparation of hot work and paint sweeping continues; paint chips have been containerized in preparation of removal. During September the radar gear turning knuckles will be removed. PCB removal will continue forward to aft and top down and will include vent ducting removal and cable removal. Removal of salvage-abies will be completed from the top down forward to aft. General cleaning and removal of all loose items will also continue during this period. ~.~ Dry docking has been changed as per the request of Colonna's Shipyard, Inc. Specifics of the dry docking date are not presently available. Visit Vandenberg is scheduled for Monday October 8'h, 2007. Information has been forwarded. A copy of the invitation is attached to this report. The next monthly conference call is scheduled for Tuesday, October 2nd, 2007 at 1 :00 pm.
