As we prepare to clean our park and prepare for a better future of Key Largo Ocean Resort we are experiencing
several concerns:
The Board of Directors of Key Largo Ocean Resort recently met to discuss the following issues of concerns
related to our park.
a. We have identified several problems regarding the safety and well being of our shareholders. After a few
incidents for example, the recent fires and massive heart attack of a shareholder we have a worry
regarding emergency vehicles. It is impossible for emergency vehicles to enter certain areas of the park,
therefore preventing access to the entire park in the event of an emergency.
b. As we are trying to speed up the process of finally complying with county codes we have come across
several obstacles that are delaying the process. Since we are still not in compliance with construction
county codes we are in fear of our time elapsing. We are aware that most of the shareholders have
constructed additions without permits and therefore fear that this may cause us to lose it all.
c. The park has had a long criminal history. As we look back at our past and current conditions we find the
need to clean the park and are trying to make this park a safe place for everyone of our families. We are
concerned for the safety of our families. For example, just last month there was a criminal act committed
in the park against another shareholder and even at our last county meeting one of the shareholders was
physically attacked by one of our own.
d. Weekly we are encountered by acts of vandalism to our properties. For example, we have had water
damage to our recreation hall, someone placed a water hose in through the bathrooms that led to the
recreation hall which has caused a loss of thousands of dollars in water damage and a possible fire.
Throughout several instances shareholders have woken up to find slashed tires, boat engines have been
damaged because of fresh water that was added to gas tanks. Also we have two robberies in the park this
last month, one of them, the boat was stripped of all the electronic gear and the diving gear the other one
all the electronic gear was removed. These are just acts of hate and cannot continue to happen in order to
keep everyone safe. Due to all of these tribulations, we felt the need to hire an off duty Monroe County
Sherif f to help keep the peace.
As you can see we want what is best for all of our shareholders. With this letter we are asking the -Commission
of Monroe County to assist us in ensuring the safety of all of shareholders and are asking to help speed the
process of a better and more pleasant future for the residence of Key Largo Ocean Resort.
