Wednesday, April 2, 2008
Key West, Florida
A Special Meeting of the Momoe County Board of County Commissioners
convened at 3:15 P.M., at the Harvey Government Center. Present and answering to roll
call were Commissioner Mario DiGennaro, Commissioner Sylvia Murphy, Commissioner
George R. Neugent, Commissioner Dixie M. Spehar and Mayor Charles "Sonny" McCoy.
Also present at the meeting were Debbie Frederick, Acting County Administrator;
Suzanne Hutton, County Attorney; Danny L. Kolhage, Clerk; County Staff, members of
the press and radio; and the general public.
SPECIAL MEETING
County Administrator Selection Process - Board of County Commissioners
interviews County Administrator finalists, formal selection and approval of new County
Administrator, pending the approval of a formal contract. The following County
Administrator Candidates made presentations: Roman Gastesi, Dennis Kelly, James
Paros, and Patrick Salerno.
Mayor McCoy discussed the decision by the Department of Community Affair's
concerning Working Waterfront Amendments.
The Board returned to the County Administrator Selection Process. The
following individual addressed the Board: Kay Thacker.
The Board proceeded to ballot on the selection of the first choice for County
Administrator with the following results:

The Board proceeded to ballot on the selection of the second choice for County
Administrator with the following results:

Based on the above results, Roman Gastesi was selected as the first choice and
Patrick Salerno as the second choice for County Administrator.
Motion was made by Commissioner DiGennaro and seconded by Commissioner
Spehar selecting Roman Gastesi as the first choice for County Administrator and, should
contract negotiations not be met, Patrick Salerno shall be the second choice for County
Administrator. Roll call vote was unanimous.
There being no further business, the meeting of the Board of County
Commissioners was adjourned.
