Hanr.~ Deputy Clerk CY At the April 16, 2008, Board of County Commissioner's meeting the Board granted approval and authorized execution of the following: I Amendment (1st Amendment) to Agreement between Monroe County and Key West Fishing Tournament, Inc. to revise Exhibit A relating to the times/schedule for the Southernmost Swordfish Tournament. Amendment (2nd Amendment to Interlocal Agreement between Monroe County and the City of Key West for the White Street Pier Rip Rap Installation Project, to extend Agreement. Amendment (1st Amendment) to Agreement between Monroe County and Cooke Communicatiions, LLC, a Delaware Limited Liability Company d/b/a FloridaKeys.com and Key West.com, to extend term of Agreement to September 30,2010. THIS AMENDMENT to agreement dated the } vt4ray of ~ 2008, is entered into by and between the Board of County Commissioners for Monroe County, FI rida, a political subdivision of the state of Florida ("County"), and Key West Fishing Tournament, Inc. ("Event Sponsor"). WHEREAS, there was a contract entered into on October 17, 2007 between the parties, awarding $40,000 for the production of the Key West Fishing Tournament between December 2007 and November 2008 (To include: Awards Presentation for FY 2007 Tournament/Key West Fishing Tournament/Kickoff and Southernmost Swordfish Tournament; and WHEREAS, it has become necessary to revise Exhibit A to reflect a change in times and schedule for the Southernmost Swordfish Tournament; NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual covenants contained herein the parties agree to the amended agrelsment as follows: 1. Exhibit A of the Agreement dated October 17, 2007 and showing times and schedule for the Southernmost Swordfish Tournament shall be revised, and attached hereto. 2. WISE Swordfish: Do we want to go with day light tournament hours? The date is Jooe 14 and we will go with II noon to midnight format. The minimum weight of a fish is 100 pooods. The scoring is 1 point per poood. We will give more points for a release, 200 points for each release. The weigh stmon will be open from 7 pm to 2 am. Motion of the floor by Roger Greene to make sure lines are out of the water by midnight. If a hook up occurs before midnight, it must be called in. TREASURER'S REPORT: DORIS HARRIS The awards banquet made about $397.00, everything sold in the silent auction. The raffle made only $600.00 this year. $4, I 00.00 is pending in reimbursements from the TDC, reimbursements have belm made quickly. Advertising for Kick-Off is goip.g well, we will hit it hard the next couple of weeks. This year we will be charging for the dinner. We ended up in the red at the last Kick-Off dinner. Grand Key is charging us between $25-$28 dollars a head. Bank balance is at $6,699.00. Everyone has been billed for sponsorship renewals. Tournament director was paid $1,000.00. MOTION TO ACCEPT TREASURER'S REPORT: DALE BITTNER SECONDED: ROGER GREENE ALL IN FAVOR: ALL AYES TOURNAMENT OPERATIONS: DORIS HARRIS Chuck Weitzel has filed our tax report. Chuck also got us a frame donated for our Don Ray print, the company is Key West Fine Art. Doris and Chuck are working on the IRS tax exempt form. Motion by Dale Bittner not to renew our membership with the Key West Chamber of Commerce due to the fee of $302.00. This motion is seconded by Roger Greene. All in favor: All Ayes. We will keep the awards dinner at the Gold Course. The Kick-Off is three weeks. Registration will be at the Grand Key from 6-8 pm on Friday, March 14. Dinner will be on the 16tli of March from 6-:8 at the Grand Key. We will charge $20.00 for the dinner. The Grand Key wants us to sign a ocmtract for the dinner. We will do a contract for 100 people. We must make sure the people Imow at the registration that they must pay for the dinner on Sunday. The polygraph is secured. The stand by fee is $150.00, if used the fee goes to $350.00 per person. We have mailed out over 600 brochures. The trophies, hats, t-shirts and cameras are all in. Weigh stations are ready to go and scale are verified. We need raffle prizes for the Kick-Off. BBT bank will continue to give $100. savings bond to the kids division. Kings Point will continue with a $100. certificate. Conchy Joes is donating t- shirts. Doris will need help with the registration. Rich Houde will be the weigh master for Garrison Bight. The awards dinner registration will be at 5:30 pm. Advertising budget is spent well. The Kick-Off is ready to go.
