Ordinance 006-1978 ORDINANCE NO. 6 - 1978 AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA: AMENDING MONROE COUNTY ORDINANCE NO. 16-1975 THE SAME BEING AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED, "AN ORDINANCE REQUIRING CONTRACTORS, SUB-CONTRACTORS, MASTERS, JOURNEY-MEN AND MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL TO OBTAIN A CERTIFICATE OF COMPETENCY PRIOR TO ENGAGING".IN BUSINESS IN MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, . . . ETC." TO PROVIDE FOR THE AUTOMATIC REVOCATION BY THE LICENSING BOARD OF THE CERTIFICATE OF COMPETENCY AND OF THE COUNTY OCCUPATIONAL LICENSE OF ANY PERSON CONVICTED OF ILLEGAL DUMPING UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF MONROE COUNTY ORDINANCE 10-1977; TO PROVIDE FOR THE ISSUANCE OF HONORARY CERTIFI- CATES TO ANY PERSON OVER THE AGE OF 60 YEARS WITHOUT CHARGE PROVIDING SAID PERSON WILL NOT ENGAGE IN BUSINESS WITHOUT FIRST MAKING HIS LICENSE CURRENT BY PAYMENT OF ALL RENEWAL FEES NECESSARY TO MAKE SAID LICENSE CURRENT FROM THE DATE OF THE ISSUANCE OF THE HONORARY CERTIFICATE; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA: Section 1. That paragraph (D) be and the same is hereby added to Section 8 (I) (1) of Monroe County Ordinance No. 16-1975 to read as follows: "(D) The other provisions of this Ordinance notwithstanding, the Contractors Examining Board shall automatically revoke the Certifi- cate of Competency issued to any person under the provisions of this Ordinance upon notification that said individual has been convicted of violating the provisions of Section 22 or Section 32 of Monroe County Ordinance No. 10-1977 relating to the unlawful disposal of garbage, rubbish, offal, trash or junk. Such a conviction shall also cause the automatic revocation of the County Occupational License held by said violator." Section 2. That Section 16 of Monroe County Ordinance No. 16- 1975 be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 16. Fees: Renewals are due on November 1st of each year, a 10% delinquent charge will be added for all renewals after December 15th. Thereafter said person will not be permitted to engage in business without first paying all renewal fees necessary to make said license current." Section 3. This Ordinance shall take effect updn receipt of the acknowledgment from the Department of State acknowledging receipt of this Ordinance and that said Ordinance has been filed in said office. .
