JOE LONDON, FIRE MARSHAL
Joe London began his employment as the Fire Marshal of Monroe County on May
1, 1985. His department's responsibilities include review of building plans, fire safety
inspections of certain type occupancies and fire investigations.
Through his many years of actual work experience in the fields of both fire
prevention and building construction, he has obtained an extensive knowledge of
building, fire, and life safety codes. His abilities, skills and knowledge are routinely
demonstrated in handling and resolving extraordinary situations that are often unique to
building construction and associated fire protection in Monroe County. He makes every
effort to inform and educate individual builders about the importance of built-in fire
prevention/protection and other life safety construction techniques and devices.
He has received numerous letters regarding his outstanding performance and the
excellent human relations skills that he possesses. Joe London is a credit to Monroe
County and the caliber of public service employees of whom Monroe County can be most
proud.
