Monroe County Recycles Day 2009
WHEREAS, November 15, 2009, is the twelfth annual "America
Recycles Day", which Is a time for the nation to renew its commitment to
recycling and closing the loop; and
WHEREAS, November 15, 2009, Is the twelfth annual "Florida
Recycles Day" which is time for Florida to maintain its commitment to
recycling and closing the loop; and
WHEREAS, Monroe County's residents by recycling continue to
reduce the volume of material entering the waste stream, thereby
conserving natural resources, and reducing air and water pollution; and
WHEREAS, for recycling programs to be effective, markets must be
developed for products that incorporate post-consumer materials in their
manufacture, are reusable, or are designed to be recycled;
NOW, THEREFORE, it be resolved that, I, George Neugent, Mayor of
Monroe County do hereby designated November 15' 2009 as
Monroe County Recycles Day
and affinn the commibnent of the Monroe County Board of County
Commissioners to encourage all residents of Monroe County to continue
participating in their curbside recycling programs and all businesses to
continue their existing recycling programs or Initiate new recycling
programs, which will reduce the volume of material entering the waste
stream, conserve natural resources, and reduce air and water pollution.
