When the Branch Manager position became available two and a half years later, Paulette accepted those responsibilities and, through the promotional opportunity program, became the new Manager of the Key Largo Library. She has filled that position admirably since then. She has developed the branch collection to reflect local interests. She works with community groups and with other County departments to assess and meet the changing needs of her community. In a branch that circulated over 85,000 items last year, Paulette has been an example of professionalism blended with the ideal of public service. With a staff of five assistants, Paulette led the Key Largo Library in serving over 100,000 patrons who visited that branch last year, yet she maintains an atmosphere of concentrating on the unique needs of each patron, In spite of her unmistakable New York background, Paulette gives every evidence of true Keys caring for the individual, and her patrons recognize and appreciate that aspect of her service. Her dedication to her patrons and to her work makes Paulette an outstanding worker who never gives less than her best. She is an asset to the Library system and to Monroe County, and we are proud to recognize her as the Employee of the Month.
