07/17/1996 Amendment to Lease , ... .. THIS AMENDMENT is entered the i:L day of ~ , 1996, by and between Diane C. Chaplin d/b/a Prime Properties (Lessor) and the ~unty Commissioners of Monroe County (CountylLessee). WHEREAS, the County presently leases property described as 7997-7999 Overseas Highway, Marathon, FL 33050, as approved by the BOCe on, September 7, 1993, and WHEREAS, the HRS - Monroe County Public Health Unit continues to require this space for public health activities, and WHEREAS, the present lease will expire on September 9, 1996. NOW THEREFORE, in consideration of promises below, the parties agree to amend the lease of, September 7, 1993, with the following provisions: 1. The term of the lease shall be extended to cover the period from September 10, 1996 to September 9, 1997. 2. The extended term of the lease shall be at and for the agreed total rental of Thirty four thousand six hundred and twenty (34,620) dollars, payable as follows: $2,885 per month to be processed within 3-4 working days after the 20th of each month, beginning on September 20, 1996 with the last rent payment processed within 3-4 working days of August 20, 1997. 3. In the event the State of Florida eliminates funding for public health services the Lessee shall have the right to terminate this Lease by giving the Lessor at least Sixty (60) days written notice prior to its effective date. 4.
