11/01/1989 Agreement AGREEMENT THIS AGREEMENT entered into this I!!-t day of ~~,.~,... , A.D. 1989, by and between the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County, Florida, hereinafter "County", and BECKMEYER & MULICK, attorneys at law, hereinafter "Law Firm", whose mailing address is 88539 Overseas Highway, Tavernier, Florida 33070. WIT N E SSE T H: WHEREAS, the County Attorney's Office desires to employ BECKMEYER & ~1ULICK in the Upper Keys commencing on October 1, 1989, and to continue through the fiscal year 1989-90, until September 30, 1990, for a period of one (1) year, and WHEREAS, the agreed compensation for said part-time attorney for the County of Monroe, shall be at the rate of $20,000.00 for up to 200 hours in said 12-month period, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT AGREED by the parties hereto as follows: 1. That the Law Firm will render part-time legal assis- tance to Monroe County, commencing October 1, 1989, based on this Contract for a term to conclude September 30, 1990. 2. That the terms and conditions of this Contract are as follows: Monroe County shall pay the Law Firm the sum of $20,000.00 for their services in said 12-month period. Said sum shall be paid in equal monthly installments beginning October 1, 1989, and continuing monthly thereafter until paid in full. In exchange for said payment, the Law Firm will provide up to 200 hours of legal services. The Law Firm shall also be compensated for all out-af-pocket expenses, including but not limited to court reporter fees, witness fees, Federal Express and Express Mail, costs of copying and postage. 3. That the work and services to be rendered by the Law Firm shall be at the direction of the County Attorney and an accurate time sheet shall be kept by the Law Firm concerning representation and activity. 4. At the request of the County Attorney, the Law Firm may, on occasion, be required to act as the advisor to the County's Planning Commission. In order to avoid any appearance of impropriety, during the life of this agreement the Law Firm shall not represent clients before the Planning Commission or represent clients on land use matters before the Board of County Commissioners. 5. That this Contract may be terminated at any time by these parties based on mutual agreement to do so. If notifica- tion of termination is given, it shall be effective on the 1st day of the month following said notification.
