CHANGE ORDER #1
PROJECT # 401-002.33/37
On August 7, 1978, Miss Lamar Curry deeded to Monroe County a strip of land 30 feet
wide at approximately Mile Marker 97.3 for the specific purpose of a public roadway
(crossover), reference recording in Book 769, page 593.
County Commission Resolution #220-1978 dated September 5, 1978, publicly expressed
its appreciation for the donation of property for the installation of a crossover land
between the northbound and southbound lanes of U.S. # 1.
Mayor Sorensen's letter to Mr. Ed Stickney, Director of Public Works, dated February
9, 1984 requested whatever action necessary be taken to expedite the completion of
this project.
Monroe County Public Works Department has and is in the process of clearing the land
and building the roadway base necessary for the crossover.
This Change Order adds $2,000.00 to the cost of Project #401-002.33/37, Key Largo
Roads II, under contract to The Brewer Company of Florida for the paving of this
crossover and the paving of 105 feet of bike path, which has to be restored as a result
of this crossover construction.
This is broken down as follows:
